Heart Swap

I haven't felt much like blogging lately, it's been a while since my last post, but I wanted to show this heart that I made as part of a swap in a wonderful Yahoo group called International Hand Stitchers.  I just joined this group recently and it's been lots of fun!  My swap partner is Ann who lives in England.  It's ok if she sees this, it's not meant to be a surprise.  She will be sending me a heart, too, and I can't wait to see it in person.
And so this won't be just a one picture post I will add a picture of Harley, our kitty who loves to pose:
Thanks again for visiting my blog!

Unna and Nostalgic Embroidery Revisited

I've been busy, I've had another two days off from work so I managed to finish Unna up into a wall hanging.  I like the way it looks with the purple.  Beth Twist who offered this chart was nice enough to put this picture on her blog with the other finishes of her charts.  It was exciting for me to see it there!
I think this bag turned out nicely with the embroidered picture on it.  I used some crocheted trim and tiny ric-rac around the edges.
I put a large pocket on the back and used the same trim on it.  It's always a nice feeling to make a new purse and no matter how many I have, it's fun to have another one!  Thank you for looking!

Unna von Bergen 1869 finished!

This was made using Beth Twist's free chart that she reproduced from an antique.  I used the DMC threads that she suggested and stitched it on a sort of grayish blue Silkweaver linen.  I've been working on this off and on since she offered the chart last August and it was quite fun to stitch.  You can find the chart on her blog Heartstring Samplery  in the list of her free charts.  Thank you, Beth for such a generous gift!
I just finished this embroidery, I like the nostalgic look of the pattern.  I used a combination of DMC, Cosmos Seasons and DMC Color Variations on unbleached muslin.  This pattern is one of the many I've been collecting from the Flickr group  Hoop Love Vintage Transfers.
Now, here's a couple of cuddling kitty pictures:
