Tulip House Stitching Set

I decided to make a needlebook and pincushion set from the Tulip House Stitching Companion chart from The Stitcher's Journey by Blackbird Designs.  This makes 5 sets of these things I have now, I just can't seem to stop myself.  I mostly used the recommended Sampler threads, except for changing Melon Patch to Copper for a little more contrast.  Here are some more views:
I've also been doing some embroidery, here's one that was done from one of the vintage patterns I've been collecting, it was fun and it only took a few days to get it done.  Here's a slightly closer picture:
Just one kitty picture today, it's Cricket doing his arm stretching exercises, a kitty has got to keep in shape, you know?
Yikes, it looks like we need to get a new couch, it's becoming rather threadbare along the bottom, that's what happens when you have so many cats, but we wouldn't change that for anything!
I'm happy to say that I'm now off work for most of the summer, except for an occasional day here and there.  I'm really looking forward to getting a lot more stitching done with all the extra time and it's also finally starting to look like spring here, too!  Thanks so much my blogging friends for stopping in and taking a look at my blog, I hope you're having a wonderful spring!

Karen, looking at your finished work is always so inspiring. The cross stitch, the embroidery, all so beautiful. I've got to get started on that BBD book myself.
So glad your sofa is getting a little threadbare. I've been worried about mine with another new kitty inside, but I like your attitude and I'm going to adopt it.
hugs, babs

Your stitching set is just beautiful! You really did a wonderful job of finishing. I LOVE your embroidered basket of flowers. There is just something so pretty and comforting about vintage embroidery to me - just like vintage linens. I always enjoy looking at what you have done.

Cricket is one cute kitty!
