Katrina's Cottage and An Embroidery

This is Katrina's Cottage by Vintage Designs and the first good sized cross stitch project I've done in a while.  It's also the first time I've used an aida fabric in years but it's a nice soft one and very pleasant to stitch on.  I used the called for DMC threads and it was a nice relaxing stitch!   If anyone would enjoy having the chart for this design, I will be happy to give it away.  Just let me know in a comment and if there is more than one person that would like it, I will do a drawing. I will even send a piece of the aida, too, since I have some extra.  It is a nice brown flecked natural color that I think goes well with the design.  Let's say that you have until noon next Monday, Sept. 2 to let me know.
I know, this embroidery is completely off season, but I finished it in the middle of the summer and didn't get around to posting it until now, almost fall.  But I thought you might like to see it anyway.  I adapted it a little from the Spring part of a four seasons set of designs that I got from The Pattern Bee.  They have the most wonderful selection of embroidery patterns there!
I love this pink variegated thread, it reminds me of cotton candy!
Some colorful flowers in a variety of stitches.
That's it for this time, I'm glad you took the time to see what I've been up to, thanks for visiting!

Two very lovely finishes Karen!
Your cross stitch cottage is fabulous and your wishing well embroidery is just gorgeous.
I love all the detail - the stonework looks real and the blossom tree is so very pretty.
I always love to see what you are stitching.

I loved, I loved and I loved both of them!

Katrina's Cottage by Vintage Designs, has been pinned it onto one of my Pinterest boards already without asking your permission! Sorry for that!

I always admire your embroideries and stitching style! The colours you've used indeed so very lovely!

Sincerely bravo!

Hugs and kisses!

Love your cross stitch piece. It's nice to see that kind of scene without a lot of back-stitch. I always think of stitching on soft Aida as comfort food.

The embroidery is gorgeous. Those blossoms are so perfect - French/Colonial or whatever knot.. they look great in that pink. And the well stitches are so clever. The stones pop out so nicely. The cord on the crank looks so realistic. Those little yellow flowers look like a tough stitch to do. Again, yours turned out so well. Great job!

Congratulations on getting back into cross-stitching!!! Lovely finish. It does have a real retro feel, and also seems very European to me - maybe it's the windmill :) It's so kind of you to host a giveaway, sorry I'm too late.

I think I know the Aida you're talking about - it's usually called Oatmeal but I always think of it as "Rustic", LOL! It is very nice to use. I really like the Charles Craft Gold Standard Aida (it's Oatmeal in that line), which is worth the little extra versus the stiffer Silver Standard. DMC took over the company and there doesn't seem to be as many colours anymore. I've heard that Zweigart is also very good.

Your little well scene is so pretty!!! I love the cotton candy trees :)The flowers are so cute too, especially the little round purple ones - are they Spiderweb Roses by any chance? I've heard of them, but haven't tried them yet.

Thanks too for the link to The Pattern Bee, they're new to me!
