Lovely finish. It does have a real retro feel, and also seems very European to me - maybe it's the windmill :) It's so kind of you to host a giveaway, sorry I'm too late.

I think I know the Aida you're talking about - it's usually called Oatmeal but I always think of it as "Rustic", LOL! It is very nice to use. I really like the Charles Craft Gold Standard Aida (it's Oatmeal in that line), which is worth the little extra versus the stiffer Silver Standard. DMC took over the company and there doesn't seem to be as many colours anymore. I've heard that Zweigart is also very good.

Your little well scene is so pretty!!! I love the cotton candy trees :)The flowers are so cute too, especially the little round purple ones - are they Spiderweb Roses by any chance? I've heard of them, but haven't tried them yet.

Thanks too for the link to The Pattern Bee, they're new to me!Aurelia Eglantinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17998483816892542367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8683989936187791195.post-80662483228971601892013-09-03T00:19:35.428-04:002013-09-03T00:19:35.428-04:00Lovely stitching on Katrina's Cottage! I always think of stitching on soft Aida as comfort food.

The embroidery is gorgeous. Those blossoms are so perfect - French/Colonial or whatever knot.. they look great in that pink. And the well stitches are so clever. The stones pop out so nicely. The cord on the crank looks so realistic. Those little yellow flowers look like a tough stitch to do. Again, yours turned out so well. Great job!Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03509728430110361806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8683989936187791195.post-59316547871996133442013-08-27T01:38:15.683-04:002013-08-27T01:38:15.683-04:00I loved, I loved and I loved both of them!
