<div style="text-align: center;">
This is a vintage looking sampler that I stitched recently using mostly Nancy Turner's Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe threads. I have been in her Primitive Limited Edition Floss club for a while now and am thoroughly enjoying it! The chart for the sampler is from an old Just Cross Stitch publication and I had been meaning to stitch it up ever since I first saw it. </div>

Here's a little embroidery from a vintage pattern made with a variety of threads. I do like to use many different kinds of threads for embroideries, I think it makes them more interesting to look at and more fun to do. The vintage doilies that you see surrounding these stitched pieces are ones that I found in a thrift store last summer for the incredible price of three for a dollar! There was a very large tub of them so I ended up buying about 30 or 40 of them, lucky me!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's my latest embroidery with a house and flowery yard. The trees make it look like springtime which is the wrong season, but I did start it during spring which wasn't that long ago for us. It just took me a while to do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvx0SGzNDKJ9K4ipwDe9frUAtPusnktuma8C9vGXpwbarZ1ZoI2w-Bguru0y85QCd0Poglh4ZB9fDIWeOLivZGRZ5mOUVlkdEN4D5mCpnLRfgdylqIAxcJytUUZ6ujf68dxjZ2xaanUHzK/s1600/house+embroidery+004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvx0SGzNDKJ9K4ipwDe9frUAtPusnktuma8C9vGXpwbarZ1ZoI2w-Bguru0y85QCd0Poglh4ZB9fDIWeOLivZGRZ5mOUVlkdEN4D5mCpnLRfgdylqIAxcJytUUZ6ujf68dxjZ2xaanUHzK/s400/house+embroidery+004.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I post the pattern below, you will see that I made some changes as I usually do. I decided to leave out the hammock and the person in it because I just can't do people in embroidery. But, I didn't think it would be a problem, I would just add some more flowers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKt7EbWLgDZmtUT04bQwSj9Q4Tuz7bbU2mzUU_D7uTIrT_vjmZBHXv_Ei3MFaVEd9FRSKdhwbyjG3gmL_8hkrVXDRpGWLa48zBTc0EWfjUDVsv0kjM3kM6erRPJCUqfITqF7KHLsTBZnqN/s1600/house+embroidery+005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKt7EbWLgDZmtUT04bQwSj9Q4Tuz7bbU2mzUU_D7uTIrT_vjmZBHXv_Ei3MFaVEd9FRSKdhwbyjG3gmL_8hkrVXDRpGWLa48zBTc0EWfjUDVsv0kjM3kM6erRPJCUqfITqF7KHLsTBZnqN/s400/house+embroidery+005.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I put in more flowers on the tree on the right because I scorched the fabric when pressing the pattern on so those spots needed to be covered up. I used the nice fluffy Caron Watercolours for the blossoms on the two trees. And as always, I used many different brands and types of thread on this embroidery.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEdF2rGP9CFwoawqKlC77N3j7DtWffufbsACMMuqlAQkJs-5F3I15jueTASEmHC_nsQMXDptbwHNIDEtq8ZzJq5aT9wWpO_66I6DTGLGAokv8UiBpt0ERzNsVWo8qVUwDTt8erBSByjcix/s1600/house+embroidery+006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEdF2rGP9CFwoawqKlC77N3j7DtWffufbsACMMuqlAQkJs-5F3I15jueTASEmHC_nsQMXDptbwHNIDEtq8ZzJq5aT9wWpO_66I6DTGLGAokv8UiBpt0ERzNsVWo8qVUwDTt8erBSByjcix/s400/house+embroidery+006.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I guess I got a little carried away when I put some ground cover vines down here. I was kind of thinking of vinca vines with their little purple flowers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDiIhmqtPY8jgTN1XGiG3xjJTRYbVqin00FsqZICrIHT8-Pe5lsdR2Jcrcsg-x1vMQ8CSalxp5KjNPBg-sytEKLcQuS7lzCje0pnii3xreHnF-Uef8U1T2Jp8xCGQJblyVVHVPZxrOKb62/s1600/hammockyardpattern.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="504" data-original-width="564" height="356" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDiIhmqtPY8jgTN1XGiG3xjJTRYbVqin00FsqZICrIHT8-Pe5lsdR2Jcrcsg-x1vMQ8CSalxp5KjNPBg-sytEKLcQuS7lzCje0pnii3xreHnF-Uef8U1T2Jp8xCGQJblyVVHVPZxrOKb62/s400/hammockyardpattern.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the pattern, it's a vintage one, so it's perfectly ok to use it since it's in the public domain. I hope someone might enjoy embroidering it, if you do I would love to see it.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's another project that makes use of an embroidery made from a vintage pattern. It's also one of my very favorite subjects for embroidery, a basket full of flowers. I just love them! It was a very simple pattern, mostly lazy daisy and button hole stitches were used.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-j5RM6V8q5s1-gMq2rWI72tm3tIUsGT2JK1LmT2zmif8ZNj-9ijNJMP4FvvHvDnjI9NhXtcinnSab9UOHFpCnnpkl78Ifp5sY7T8eTf6b88wlmRQYT_h-mK0qj3mqdcoHRNQkj6189Oqo/s1600/pink+purse+009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-j5RM6V8q5s1-gMq2rWI72tm3tIUsGT2JK1LmT2zmif8ZNj-9ijNJMP4FvvHvDnjI9NhXtcinnSab9UOHFpCnnpkl78Ifp5sY7T8eTf6b88wlmRQYT_h-mK0qj3mqdcoHRNQkj6189Oqo/s400/pink+purse+009.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had the pink fabric in my sewing room closet and decided to use it instead of my usual unbleached or tea-dyed muslin. I was at Hobby Lobby looking for some trim to go with it, when that flowered fabric caught my eye from across the room and I knew it would go perfectly with the embroidered design.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhevvWJid0iWDbkrTT34zcElPxDSriV1kB3dQUg-5q3C4BnWzHWh0MfIpWg206HBISrVXsmd5Lvz6zT35eUcUCu2z5OGd0hTWt80uQI1Ho8B9kNWhlFEJlzga9nepNK56N9KIkdLYcUYjuH/s1600/pink+purse+2+005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhevvWJid0iWDbkrTT34zcElPxDSriV1kB3dQUg-5q3C4BnWzHWh0MfIpWg206HBISrVXsmd5Lvz6zT35eUcUCu2z5OGd0hTWt80uQI1Ho8B9kNWhlFEJlzga9nepNK56N9KIkdLYcUYjuH/s400/pink+purse+2+005.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The dark pink and blue threads are Hobby Lobby's Artiste, the lavender flowers were made with Sulky Blendable and the white daisies used DMC. I wanted a more textured heavy fiber for the basket so I stitched it with Caron Watercolours in Antique Bronze. I then added the leaves using a nice green Threadworx pearl cotton size 12.</div>

This is the pattern, as I mentioned before, quite simple, but a joy to stitch! I found it on Flickr's <a href="https://www.flickr.com/groups/hooplove">Hooplove Vintage Transfers</a>, a place that I love to browse often! Thanks for visiting once again!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is my latest embroidery, I hope you enjoy seeing it. This one only took me about three weeks to finish since it's not a super large piece. I got this vintage pattern on Pinterest which can be a wonderful place to find both patterns and vintage embroideries for lots of inspiration.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc8hJnSD-UeT_qojUolQeCQ9HTWBF9bJFdAK1uPu_m1yiGNO9J4ttcf1tKs4Awv4RjZmz_PWrAOMAmVgeVid4eKyGrnzHHrFQISgGxY7kpE6t1uSm-R53b01Hb_zRkjeiuZxSBiOZM7Hy9/s1600/rose+arbor+pattern.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc8hJnSD-UeT_qojUolQeCQ9HTWBF9bJFdAK1uPu_m1yiGNO9J4ttcf1tKs4Awv4RjZmz_PWrAOMAmVgeVid4eKyGrnzHHrFQISgGxY7kpE6t1uSm-R53b01Hb_zRkjeiuZxSBiOZM7Hy9/s400/rose+arbor+pattern.jpg" width="393" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's a copy if you would like to stitch one up yourself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ggffyMIm3smZKCZCfQN4dzpXLhfF82kyOrfH-THbAMkqH_DVTj6POoTNxbeJAcwasPxnqGzL74-gkZ7ShA35sxbH3ZUFW5Cd1Zvi7cZi3JBZa831S5oAz3trkovFOCO_eYKZC3S7YPkC/s1600/rose+arbor+embroidery+017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1ggffyMIm3smZKCZCfQN4dzpXLhfF82kyOrfH-THbAMkqH_DVTj6POoTNxbeJAcwasPxnqGzL74-gkZ7ShA35sxbH3ZUFW5Cd1Zvi7cZi3JBZa831S5oAz3trkovFOCO_eYKZC3S7YPkC/s400/rose+arbor+embroidery+017.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As always, I used a variety of thread brands from my ever growing collection. These flowers were made with Cosmos Seasons, Gentle Art, Needle Necessities and Sulky Blendables. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikLKluQdgb58z0ipKjmZYXtqADSRoTsrEataw1YhBaF9dU9q_lEUAJ0X8-85t9gsxOMj8JBmuJcuYlrYu_8nPJi5gajDjMbPKOraWborLXdjaTzmk6qY7rLYnxyeWxqdbKqNh8_fpRDv6Z/s1600/rose+arbor+embroidery+018.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikLKluQdgb58z0ipKjmZYXtqADSRoTsrEataw1YhBaF9dU9q_lEUAJ0X8-85t9gsxOMj8JBmuJcuYlrYu_8nPJi5gajDjMbPKOraWborLXdjaTzmk6qY7rLYnxyeWxqdbKqNh8_fpRDv6Z/s400/rose+arbor+embroidery+018.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The yellow hollyhocks and the lavendar lazy daisy flowers were both made with Sulky Blendable threads. This was the first time I had used very much of this thread and it was very enjoyable to use.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiZt5NxLvURsAfQBO0qOBU3v798MrRmhTsHnz_XK9gvGkIqm5uRUyRESpuB5izlrYB6YC6iXxXp3a76ybyYS1vP_t7OfV_1yoZeAOjoOpA9H_y4HLuzY1uum3ZntncV5GFRCkWnfXVjp9R/s1600/rose+arbor+embroidery+020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiZt5NxLvURsAfQBO0qOBU3v798MrRmhTsHnz_XK9gvGkIqm5uRUyRESpuB5izlrYB6YC6iXxXp3a76ybyYS1vP_t7OfV_1yoZeAOjoOpA9H_y4HLuzY1uum3ZntncV5GFRCkWnfXVjp9R/s400/rose+arbor+embroidery+020.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I stitched these roses in a woven spider web stitch which is easy to do but just very time consuming. This thread is called "Gypsy", one of the Artiste collection that was sold by Hobby Lobby but is now unfortunately discontinued. I love the variety of pink colors all in one skein of thread. The leaves and grass were done with a Cosmos Season green that I find myself using again and again.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for taking time to look at my embroidery again, I appreciate your visit!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the first of three of my Berlinwork finishes that I would like to show you. I have loved this floral ever since I first saw it in this old Dutch magazine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWoxgz-yz55LsWT-szTHQkENdy-7xP8V4fxrNLRmNefPZ5JRtKWzg66HMGLsB46clB6BtrryIzW8Ma6jx7sZIBU-gUHDHrL3KIAZb0N5fiOKlUPp4VR3ze7JODxgTQ7VdIOKEN2pazgTB8/s1600/Picture+015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWoxgz-yz55LsWT-szTHQkENdy-7xP8V4fxrNLRmNefPZ5JRtKWzg66HMGLsB46clB6BtrryIzW8Ma6jx7sZIBU-gUHDHrL3KIAZb0N5fiOKlUPp4VR3ze7JODxgTQ7VdIOKEN2pazgTB8/s400/Picture+015.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They show it stitched on black fabric which is a more striking contrast, but I just wasn't brave enough to try it on black. So I used this blue fabric which shows it off fairly nicely, too, I think.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSXPzq6xqln1axPXfVm7NM4mMKbUSIdJj7wVGBbozTWx9tq46Jty68vOOXLm_dvI6vMzzOu0da6hV1DJM568HdJpdIEhTBerQpG1qFqgZTG7N9pbXh_CcEIIhaH_MH2Udr1ge8kwgT-EMg/s1600/Picture+005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSXPzq6xqln1axPXfVm7NM4mMKbUSIdJj7wVGBbozTWx9tq46Jty68vOOXLm_dvI6vMzzOu0da6hV1DJM568HdJpdIEhTBerQpG1qFqgZTG7N9pbXh_CcEIIhaH_MH2Udr1ge8kwgT-EMg/s400/Picture+005.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then there is this little landscape that was quick and fun to stitch. I found the pattern for it on a wonderful website that has several beautiful Berlinwork patterns offered for free. It's not anything illegal , everything she has comes from very old patterns that are in the public domain. Be sure and check out the <a href="http://www.gancedo.eu/">link</a> if you like to do Berlinwork. I cannot wait to stitch the one of a mother cat and her kitten!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
The last one is part of a large sampler from an issue of Sampler and Antique Needlework Magazine which, sadly, is no longer being published. I didn't feel up to doing the whole sampler at that time, so I just did one of my favorite parts of it, this darling little rooster and hen scene.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope you're having a wonderful summer. It's been a good one here so far, we have been watching all of the hay around our house being cut and bailed and our flower gardens are doing nicely. Thank you so much for visiting!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I just finished this embroidery, it's been a while since I've done one of these, so I really enjoyed it. As usual, I used a vintage pattern.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb7d9M_QgXuz6EG7RJyJ-vTee5tsQt1oIXnFQNJTRBWu6jNU7RZ8MmsnS1H0WwWIS4qS0ywcA20AflWeeFaCxPhXkV-Nmx7ZkSjchHmWMEY9u9KH3H1CKAh1f9ZBqpCIyhL85yYXDgpv6x/s1600/8d5ad8939ef207f4c8d2380a0177743e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb7d9M_QgXuz6EG7RJyJ-vTee5tsQt1oIXnFQNJTRBWu6jNU7RZ8MmsnS1H0WwWIS4qS0ywcA20AflWeeFaCxPhXkV-Nmx7ZkSjchHmWMEY9u9KH3H1CKAh1f9ZBqpCIyhL85yYXDgpv6x/s400/8d5ad8939ef207f4c8d2380a0177743e.jpg" width="372" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made a few small changes, but mostly stuck to the way it was. I used a lot of different brands of threads from my very enormous stash. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuTTED4mKEPwaGbTobJKQ4L00HJMkB4U0zkAbQAeJMRzf64Gv3PPfUXeLRaVmBDm4qOGQpNdhxDnm1eP0ELu7VObhr7pCt-PBHZvVmxQmfGFRnms_VV0c3N3fP23rm7NVZ_v8G8VdJ_p32/s1600/100_2549.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuTTED4mKEPwaGbTobJKQ4L00HJMkB4U0zkAbQAeJMRzf64Gv3PPfUXeLRaVmBDm4qOGQpNdhxDnm1eP0ELu7VObhr7pCt-PBHZvVmxQmfGFRnms_VV0c3N3fP23rm7NVZ_v8G8VdJ_p32/s400/100_2549.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I like the multi-colored thread that the roof and door are made of, unfortunately, I have already forgotten what brand it was.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh81YIOhCxFQze1Lo6cYqz4BS_YQtC-q9UpRW97OwC4yUEPMUYTs-yEpkQWNdz0KxbbktWtXMpHaabP84Wsk4tWlhxCrCz-XvMHzrDS306uEXUJTErn6Fqmeo0nKBTihp11_VHr-d9-g_f3/s1600/100_2557.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh81YIOhCxFQze1Lo6cYqz4BS_YQtC-q9UpRW97OwC4yUEPMUYTs-yEpkQWNdz0KxbbktWtXMpHaabP84Wsk4tWlhxCrCz-XvMHzrDS306uEXUJTErn6Fqmeo0nKBTihp11_VHr-d9-g_f3/s400/100_2557.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

I put a little trellis on the corner of the house using white pearl cotton.<br />
I'm going to give this little embroidery picture to a lady who is a dialysis patient at the place where my hubby is also a patient. I always bring a project to work on while I wait there and she was always admiring it, so I hope she will enjoy it. I hope you got a little bit of enjoyment from looking at it, too, and thank you for visiting!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I started working on this sampler several months ago, but as you may or may not remember, I really wasn't very fond of a lot of the dull colors it has. I thought it might look nicer, at least to me, if some of the browns and beiges were replaced with some brighter colors. Now it is finished and here is the result.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJLV-kCgcjvwoGH8AzRO3Q2Zn1MriepUjmUubYegkN3ZTmPPnMjayCUAirU9nm0VzAsz87uMqvCLAUSdIvCqbHu6xGCJKHm4pmSpSpoDDv5ExVt2uB1gcvkNaMdT_ZQ6qEaJmy0n_rN4bM/s1600/100_2538.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJLV-kCgcjvwoGH8AzRO3Q2Zn1MriepUjmUubYegkN3ZTmPPnMjayCUAirU9nm0VzAsz87uMqvCLAUSdIvCqbHu6xGCJKHm4pmSpSpoDDv5ExVt2uB1gcvkNaMdT_ZQ6qEaJmy0n_rN4bM/s400/100_2538.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I left all of the greens and a few browns and grays as they were, but changed most of the other colors. I love pink and blue so I used a lot of those and also some very light peach here and there, especially in the lower and the right border.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I first stitched the cherries in a medium pink, then changed them to this dark red just to have all of the red in the sampler more balanced, but I'm not sure it was the right choice, they did look nice when they were pink. Sorry about the turquoise fuzz on one of the leaves, I don't know how that ended up there.</div>

This wreath motif is my favorite one. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking! I also want to say sorry I have not been visiting or commenting very much on your blogs these past few months. In July, my husband started having to do dialysis and it was very rough for a couple of months. I've always been a terrible worrier and it was difficult for me to think about very much of anything else during that time.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I'm happy to say, he is doing so much better now, it just took some time for him to get adjusted and he is feeling quite well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you so much for visiting!</div>

This was a very enjoyable embroidery to do, it was done from a pattern provided by Cheryl {Chez60} on Flickr. She has a wonderful collection of vintage landscape embroidery patterns and I'm very grateful she has decided to share them with us. Here is a copy of the pattern:</div>

<span id="goog_1324679690"></span><span id="goog_1324679691"></span>I used several different types of threads. I'm very fortunate to have a large collection of them to choose from.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the roof I used Valdani Twisted Tweed Pearl Cotton, I thought it provided an interesting texture. For the chimney I used a Cosmos Seasons variegated floss, I have used this one many times when doing bricks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used Caron Watercolors in several places in this embroidery. I especially like it for French knots since each of its three strands even when separated are quite thick and fill up an area fairly fast. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can't say I'm totally happy with the entire embroidery. For example, after stitching the rain barrel next to the chimney, we were driving somewhere and I saw a real wooden barrel and it was a weathered gray, not brown like mine. And I'm not really crazy about those teal bushes but have you ever tried ripping out a large area of French knots? Let me tell you, it's not something I enjoy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But I try to learn from each project and for the most part, it's quite fun!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thank you so much for stopping in and taking a look at my embroidery!</div>

I thought I would show you some of my stitched pieces of Berlinwork designs. I love these beautiful designs from the Victorian age so much and hope you will enjoy looking at a few of them.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is one of my very favorites, it comes from one of <a href="http://www.raffaellaserena.com/">Raffaella Serena's</a> wonderful books called Animal Embroideries and Patterns. She has three books on this subject and I'm lucky enough to have all three of them.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Some of the roses. I stitched this on 32 count Lugana with one strand of DMC over two threads of the fabric. This is my preference for stitching detailed designs like this one, I think it has a nicer, neater look to it than it would have if stitching it over only one thread. Here are some more designs from Raffaella's books.</div>

Just a bad bathroom mirror arm selfie, sorry! This was done by <a href="http://www.lakeviewtattoo.com/">Erik</a> who is always kind enough to tattoo whatever pictures I bring in to him. <div style="text-align: center;">
I made this embroidery using another wonderful vintage pattern provided by Flickr contributor Chez60, the same lady who provided the Crinoline Lady pattern in my previous post. She has shared so many beautiful old designs that I just can't wait to use! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This pattern originally had a crinoline lady, too, but since I had just done one of those I decided to make some changes. Here's the original one:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9zaEpABDPYDZ9HKP6LIIuqnuDHnxPfHda9HnItwF3mFJeydYbU1cNmxv6ZKR-6v-speSnhohp114QE2erXPrYlK83tzurCo8PMQtuQy_uL2L-od06TvqZpoMFNoCVuM6BA6XTdF64sjqo/s1600/14145389362_2632692103_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9zaEpABDPYDZ9HKP6LIIuqnuDHnxPfHda9HnItwF3mFJeydYbU1cNmxv6ZKR-6v-speSnhohp114QE2erXPrYlK83tzurCo8PMQtuQy_uL2L-od06TvqZpoMFNoCVuM6BA6XTdF64sjqo/s1600/14145389362_2632692103_b.jpg" height="400" width="290" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just left her out, added some more rocks and flowers and was reasonably happy with the result.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6knhD6PkjMkJNghnheIdg6hNTo1RSDa1kwAOa1yaJr26c824yFV77uNQ_cTDCs10A0CEbOnzqZ2UOIFS45bRuBuIYZJAIFd3CJ_18wWfTY3iXk9PHQwugOXiafxcJRalx4GU2-wOT1aL-/s1600/100_2361.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6knhD6PkjMkJNghnheIdg6hNTo1RSDa1kwAOa1yaJr26c824yFV77uNQ_cTDCs10A0CEbOnzqZ2UOIFS45bRuBuIYZJAIFd3CJ_18wWfTY3iXk9PHQwugOXiafxcJRalx4GU2-wOT1aL-/s1600/100_2361.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A little closer. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used a variety of threads including Valdani, DMC Color Variations, Gentle Art Sampler Threads and Cosmos Seasons. All of these threads which are probably used more for cross stitch than anything else are wonderful to use for this kind of embroidery.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One more close up:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGxLrkne5Lq293IDGH5wXLuaopTolPxwzeXGHT3gz-nn4DdXdbLu-r9NaXsMDjleoVkCQO_dsU_g0piZqDhc1ama7Se8_kRiWg7m5Q-x7CqI7cLlYoFPMoWgX5CfCzH9N0NqwcrXOlHnkC/s1600/100_2363.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGxLrkne5Lq293IDGH5wXLuaopTolPxwzeXGHT3gz-nn4DdXdbLu-r9NaXsMDjleoVkCQO_dsU_g0piZqDhc1ama7Se8_kRiWg7m5Q-x7CqI7cLlYoFPMoWgX5CfCzH9N0NqwcrXOlHnkC/s1600/100_2363.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Those odd looking things in the lower right corner are supposed to be bricks. I had tried several different ways of doing them including plain satin stitch and nothing seemed to look right. So after several rip outs I settled on the way you see them here. I still wasn't perfectly happy with them but decided enough was enough and this is how they would stay.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hope you enjoyed seeing another embroidery, thanks for visiting!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to do a traditional crinoline lady embroidery using a vintage pattern--kindly provided by Chez60 on the Flickr group Hoop Love Vintage Patterns. But instead of the usual cotton floss colors normally used at that time, I wanted to go with variegated silks. These are mostly Caron Waterlilies, with some Dinky Dyes and a couple of Gloriana silk flosses.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoZ_OZMWvM80S3WnjuMSRKLFHy4w_bIuqGevMUI0nzJCs04Q7SR1tG_tzxu_pV9Qk-4xkwRi9Njmbbjdxi9sIcFCKrMYb4vv6E909yGVowN3RhYWz-hGyFNZDOk4INKNo7S3ibS-bh0Fmr/s1600/100_2262.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoZ_OZMWvM80S3WnjuMSRKLFHy4w_bIuqGevMUI0nzJCs04Q7SR1tG_tzxu_pV9Qk-4xkwRi9Njmbbjdxi9sIcFCKrMYb4vv6E909yGVowN3RhYWz-hGyFNZDOk4INKNo7S3ibS-bh0Fmr/s1600/100_2262.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another way to have it be a little bit different was to make the lady a dark complected one. I've only seen crinoline ladies as light skinned white ones, so I thought we should see a lady of color for a change. I also used a tiny piece of fabric for the hankerchief she's waving because I was pretty sure it would look better than one embroidered on the background fabric.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixsTcb4yKp5F0Y6Errm4MZ6M4P8q19OHiZ2BrSU5UOVejqsvox-STBpkQedO_hm4ebgBYFjIdk9ZNT2faJnlPlpSqyiAR45licie5jIRFR7zqcd_MJRiJ4EGRTpiH6Sb-1CYzKY4fB94dT/s1600/100_2261.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixsTcb4yKp5F0Y6Errm4MZ6M4P8q19OHiZ2BrSU5UOVejqsvox-STBpkQedO_hm4ebgBYFjIdk9ZNT2faJnlPlpSqyiAR45licie5jIRFR7zqcd_MJRiJ4EGRTpiH6Sb-1CYzKY4fB94dT/s1600/100_2261.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was a fun embroidery and I can't wait to start on another one!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I've always admired the design and motifs of this sampler, but never cared for the mostly dull colors that were charted for it. I don't know if these were the original colors or if it was charted using the faded over time colors but I thought it could use a little brightening up. So I decided to change not all, but a lot of the colors to ones that I think are a lot nicer. DMC threads were used.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is the old Burda magazine that the chart came from, I've collected many of these over the years from Ebay and I love them. I think Permin may have sold this as a chart, also.</div>

A lot has happened since I last posted, we were very sad last February to lose our sweet Maggie.</div>

We had found her living in our shed several years ago, she had given birth to a littler of kittens which we found homes for and then had her spayed. Eventually she came to live inside with us and the other kitties and she would always show her appreciation with lots of love. She was such a joy to have with us and we miss her terribly.</div>

On a happier note, here's a picture of Sarah and Tigger locked in a tight cuddle.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq5djrVRP3Hrgb3ad-xqqvLMheAo03oUOQ_JAzocCOPyTPtTrmiUOlHm-WCrKgxgNZ16O6K69IW6psgP-hoqV6__PqkHkHclmI83ab9lSvdjkPxUFVG6Pq2jwcuuPsHDnDAAPG8bAc9DQU/s1600/100_2187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq5djrVRP3Hrgb3ad-xqqvLMheAo03oUOQ_JAzocCOPyTPtTrmiUOlHm-WCrKgxgNZ16O6K69IW6psgP-hoqV6__PqkHkHclmI83ab9lSvdjkPxUFVG6Pq2jwcuuPsHDnDAAPG8bAc9DQU/s1600/100_2187.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've been finding some really nice vintage transfers on Ebay and Etsy and have been enjoying turning them into embroideries like this one. I used traditional DMC vareigated colors on this embroidery and the next one, trying to keep with a vintage look. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkOO4p_dynMqv6yLNRffi9J_I6D_I1AFdPfDJ2uZ4Qlsfeh9vOT4smyQ4fYoKa7J_5aVm_mULrLuHXvUMQR2FPIvfcRScbNkhqpvL4U0vGZnQDNgytOmpqom9s8anHQTvd5QVFTdYIPOB8/s1600/100_2186.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkOO4p_dynMqv6yLNRffi9J_I6D_I1AFdPfDJ2uZ4Qlsfeh9vOT4smyQ4fYoKa7J_5aVm_mULrLuHXvUMQR2FPIvfcRScbNkhqpvL4U0vGZnQDNgytOmpqom9s8anHQTvd5QVFTdYIPOB8/s1600/100_2186.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But for the next one I decided to use a more modern color scheme and I used newer brands of threads; Cosmos Seasons and DMC Color Variations.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMsu2rIf6sGKO166UexOtMv6DV5rEvn5WwbtWJF0lPhTzoZJCM07-Y5m4ssXFUX_-IjCtEnZldpluUbSHSGA3oQ_RnYLNMMSh3CnfKLXDdidR7mF4GJeLZGw5M0EjCYetHo4UdpCLdQT0S/s1600/100_2185.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMsu2rIf6sGKO166UexOtMv6DV5rEvn5WwbtWJF0lPhTzoZJCM07-Y5m4ssXFUX_-IjCtEnZldpluUbSHSGA3oQ_RnYLNMMSh3CnfKLXDdidR7mF4GJeLZGw5M0EjCYetHo4UdpCLdQT0S/s1600/100_2185.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Even though I love the vintage look, I do love the colors on this embroidery, too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1m0jis26sr0mseqNk7c7wZ3lg7TT5gBZYgf-SxYZyaw2H9Mxrtv7_mBcGCBdSx5rUMl7f_CgLz3V4VG-dluqSd1iCx2kxcSqxPtNOuSSU1b5Zh6FKtelfkVdKDQGnfc0uRPLNo_0cLGqH/s1600/100_2184.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1m0jis26sr0mseqNk7c7wZ3lg7TT5gBZYgf-SxYZyaw2H9Mxrtv7_mBcGCBdSx5rUMl7f_CgLz3V4VG-dluqSd1iCx2kxcSqxPtNOuSSU1b5Zh6FKtelfkVdKDQGnfc0uRPLNo_0cLGqH/s1600/100_2184.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got what was supposed to be a kit for a stamped cross stitch sampler, but it looked like it was going to stamp onto the fabric in a wonky way. So I decided to do it in a counted way, which was kind of a challenge because the chart that was included was meant just as a guide to the colors and was a bit wonky itself. I also changed most of the colors to vareigated DMC ones, I felt that they made it look more interesting and it was definitely more fun to stitch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I will leave you with a picture of three of the kitties, Pepper, Tigger and Sarah relaxing on the couch. Thank you so much for visiting!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This antique embroidery was sent to me by a lovely lady named Nancy who you may know from her former blog "Lovely in Chocolate." She doesn't have her blog anymore but we are Facebook friends and one day she just announced that she had found a nice antique embroidery and was going to send it to me! I was flabbergasted but couldn't say no since I love old embroideries. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I carefully attached it to some fabric that I think goes well with it and made it into a wall hanging.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO6Iadk78B3nDNRyq51YZ8TSNR_SUeA7hoRjrT3SoF3Mctj4c3RvM2c-jX2sqhwULpIo7Vi9qdGxmPd2yMFtpZtrNV2mKgY1M3XO8jJim2VyLYY_k3vRQMeOv2CYCftqBM57cn8FPV2HQt/s1600/100_2137.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO6Iadk78B3nDNRyq51YZ8TSNR_SUeA7hoRjrT3SoF3Mctj4c3RvM2c-jX2sqhwULpIo7Vi9qdGxmPd2yMFtpZtrNV2mKgY1M3XO8jJim2VyLYY_k3vRQMeOv2CYCftqBM57cn8FPV2HQt/s400/100_2137.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There are lots of pretty details to look at, such as the bunny at the base of the tree and the little bluebirds in a nest up in a branch of the tree.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I stitched this from an old stamped cross stitch kit that I found on Ebay. I had seen a finished one on Pinterest and loved it so much that I knew I had to try and find one to make. I love the colors and the vintage look of it. I have not yet made it into a hanging, but it's sitting on the fabric that I will be using, I think it will look nice with it.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
It may seem strange to you, that someone would want to stitch an old thing like this, with its unruly X's and a lack of precision compared to a counted cross stitch piece. I would not have liked this either, years ago, but for some reason, I just love things like this now. I hope you have enjoyed looking at these and I'm so glad you came to my blog for another visit!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is Katrina's Cottage by Vintage Designs and the first good sized cross stitch project I've done in a while. It's also the first time I've used an aida fabric in years but it's a nice soft one and very pleasant to stitch on. I used the called for DMC threads and it was a nice relaxing stitch! If anyone would enjoy having the chart for this design, I will be happy to give it away. Just let me know in a comment and if there is more than one person that would like it, I will do a drawing. I will even send a piece of the aida, too, since I have some extra. It is a nice brown flecked natural color that I think goes well with the design. Let's say that you have until noon next Monday, Sept. 2 to let me know.</div>

I know, this embroidery is completely off season, but I finished it in the middle of the summer and didn't get around to posting it until now, almost fall. But I thought you might like to see it anyway. I adapted it a little from the Spring part of a four seasons set of designs that I got from <a href="http://www.patternbee.com/">The Pattern Bee</a>. They have the most wonderful selection of embroidery patterns there!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is one of the treasures that I found recently at a nearby antique shop. I don't know how old it is, or who stitched it, I just knew it had to come home with me! And at a price of only $5.00, the decision wasn't difficult. I thought the word "hame" was odd, but I did some googling and found that it was a Scottish word for "home". However it's said, I agree with the sentiment!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Some of the stitching has rotted away from being so old.</div>

More treasures:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-2VWANtCqjD6FZa07ZeQUpqscDhnDL1cyu49HeT7O3fT1DfGtXjyIEgcv632V4zoQfU6GW7JKGC0fTIFghWZy7-yzsssxQSarHYfaqp4-JP_aGFlzqBvIFkfNgK3nVYCdRwOPB5TM-830/s1600/100_1964.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-2VWANtCqjD6FZa07ZeQUpqscDhnDL1cyu49HeT7O3fT1DfGtXjyIEgcv632V4zoQfU6GW7JKGC0fTIFghWZy7-yzsssxQSarHYfaqp4-JP_aGFlzqBvIFkfNgK3nVYCdRwOPB5TM-830/s400/100_1964.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This lovely cross stitch design is on what looks like a dish towel made of very soft linen.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi10Jd3AHMVNkXYH7gNuPP273WzIlLRyMDRfVmPyqKhcDepPdB8vG_VIEeN5xar_k62GLGBZhNn-KkucdpGq5rGwRVAKJMgxCOVm6Qcam0T64_EzEvNPcNWRruxuQ7ZDlF3Klx-ayG0GKZX/s1600/100_1966.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi10Jd3AHMVNkXYH7gNuPP273WzIlLRyMDRfVmPyqKhcDepPdB8vG_VIEeN5xar_k62GLGBZhNn-KkucdpGq5rGwRVAKJMgxCOVm6Qcam0T64_EzEvNPcNWRruxuQ7ZDlF3Klx-ayG0GKZX/s400/100_1966.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was stitched with what looks like one strand of flower thread over four threads of the linen. The linen is so fine I can barely see the threads, but this cross stitch was definitely counted and not done over a stamped design.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzANwZkLH6zhPFV_CZdPeUGq-ws9P_eUCRBM3-O1p16F9h6dSVM3nkoTWu8jttXnL-aSNI_O8YrDeiHQin24MOYho7i0DJxfMeKw2lE4fAC0eh9LuMeuwyUFXV8y0vWw4SliN5UjhwmImM/s1600/100_1968.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzANwZkLH6zhPFV_CZdPeUGq-ws9P_eUCRBM3-O1p16F9h6dSVM3nkoTWu8jttXnL-aSNI_O8YrDeiHQin24MOYho7i0DJxfMeKw2lE4fAC0eh9LuMeuwyUFXV8y0vWw4SliN5UjhwmImM/s400/100_1968.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another beauty, I'm guessing this may have been done in the 40's or 50's. I love the crocheted edging.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
A nice doily for only $3.00. I'm often amazed at the bargains that can be found with antique linens, I bought all four of these pieces for $18.00!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, here's a couple of fun selvage projects I've been working on:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiafPTk-1WvFVSZz6f5SdKrVZ1mrBGuETOGIctRvGx8gpC_8aHixlFZM2ADJ_nWLYG8nUfKL4ozWxf_Jo1-g3uXeSDvIZfIEJoySdV82gUtMKtoib318w78OY9MqpJtqQeybfSzEWg64ljC/s1600/100_1960.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiafPTk-1WvFVSZz6f5SdKrVZ1mrBGuETOGIctRvGx8gpC_8aHixlFZM2ADJ_nWLYG8nUfKL4ozWxf_Jo1-g3uXeSDvIZfIEJoySdV82gUtMKtoib318w78OY9MqpJtqQeybfSzEWg64ljC/s400/100_1960.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A drawstring bag to use as a purse or to hold needlework projects. As you can see, I shop at Jo-ann Fabrics quite a lot!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioWM6IVMsv1ncJDtYI1cUeovy7u4ASiNL9CEQrCPauoH6AQMhtEnf5i0VqU5FJzbDDEJVn9IxyVBQ3uwcz0H3d8PxRp-EryyqSRFy_ImbZGQZBpm3mjnFJWWw7oI-HV2uBIlTBj8aQcW74/s1600/100_1963.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioWM6IVMsv1ncJDtYI1cUeovy7u4ASiNL9CEQrCPauoH6AQMhtEnf5i0VqU5FJzbDDEJVn9IxyVBQ3uwcz0H3d8PxRp-EryyqSRFy_ImbZGQZBpm3mjnFJWWw7oI-HV2uBIlTBj8aQcW74/s400/100_1963.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A smaller bag with a slightly brighter color scheme. Thank you for stopping in again to look at my pictures! I'm going to leave you with one last one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This was an old abandoned house, built in the 1800's just around the corner from us. The owners decided to let our local firefighters burn it down for training purposes. I know it was a good thing for the firefighters to be able to use it this way, but at the same time I hated to see it go. We have been driving and walking by that old house for 22 years and and will absolutely miss it! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks again for visiting my blog! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Last summer most of our lawn was eaten by grubs. If you haven't experienced these little devils, they are fat worm-like creatures that burrow under the ground and eat the roots of whatever grass you may have. Then the grass dies and you are left with bare dirt. At first, we were a little upset, but then the area began to fill in with a variety of plants. Of course, nature abhors a vacuum!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Some came from nearby flower beds, some probably just appeared when seeds blew in from elsewhere. Mostly weeds, like the yellow flowers here. I know they're weeds but I don't care, I think they are rather nice looking!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

One of the things that we now have are these adorable miniature violas or Johnny-Jump-Ups. The larger viola that is in the middle is a normal sized one so you can see how tiny the other ones are. One of the advantages of our new wildflower garden is it doesn't have to be mowed, my husband likes that!</div>

This picture was taken in the woods by our neighbor's house. She was out walking and found this darling little fawn. Its mother was probably away finding something to eat and when Mom tells her fawn to stay put they will not budge. We took pictures while being careful not to disturb the little one and then we crept quietly away. At one point I saw the fawn's eye flutter open to look at me, but he/she did not move other than that!</div>

I call this Forget-Me-Not Lane. It's part of one of the walking areas in our town, this probably goes for about a quarter of a mile with loads of the little blue flowers on each side of the path. I love waking through there!</div>

My latest tattoo! I have always loved the look of bird's nests with eggs and when I saw this picture on The Graphics Fairy, a wonderful website full of vintage images, I knew it would make a great tattoo. If you haven't been there, be sure and check it out at <a href="http://www.thegraphicsfairy.com/">The Graphics Fairy</a><br />
This tattoo was done by Erik at <a href="http://www.lakeviewtattoo.com/">Lakeview Tattoo</a>, the same artist who did all of my other ones, I think he did a beautiful job on it!<br />
Thanks for visiting again, I appreciate it!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I sure love embroidering cottages! This one was just as fun as the other ones I have done. I used a wide assortment of threads as usual, including DMC, Cosmo Seasons and Valdani. Every thread used is a variegated or over-dyed except the bright yellow one in the center of some of the flowers and the French knots over toward the right side, that is a DMC Craft Thread. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to cover the house with vines, I hadn't thought of that idea before, it reminds me of pictures of vine covered English cottages that I've seen. </div>

A couple of close ups of the flowers. What cottage scene doesn't have a lot of flowers? You can't have too many, I think!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is Sarah and Tigger. In case you don't remember, Sarah is one of our newest kitties. We adopted her and her baby, Pepper, last spring. Well, Sarah has decided that she's in love with Tigger. She wants to snuggle with him as much as possible and loves it when he gives her a bath. She thinks he's just the best thing ever and I think maybe he loves her a little bit, too.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
It's been a while, but I finally have something done to show you! I picked out some of my favorite fabrics from my stash and made a nicely sized bag that I can use as either a purse or a stitching bag. In the middle is a tiny basket of flowers embroidery. The pattern for it is yet another one from the Flickr group Hoop Love Vintage Transfers. I don't know how I lived before I found that place and its huge supply of vintage patterns!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGXMF4Y1wRUVpWgvvOtx1TxVgI35wheB43aklCwQLEjrK_8_U87i4Dyf1MvW9cgX7AJBa3RVgPcLdRttrr_AGEdhW7cgQKjWKIxOlCsGNUODMQC_NIULgGFbzUPQLlkFpadyJSEKIbkpRL/s1600/100_1832.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGXMF4Y1wRUVpWgvvOtx1TxVgI35wheB43aklCwQLEjrK_8_U87i4Dyf1MvW9cgX7AJBa3RVgPcLdRttrr_AGEdhW7cgQKjWKIxOlCsGNUODMQC_NIULgGFbzUPQLlkFpadyJSEKIbkpRL/s400/100_1832.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This embroidery only took maybe 2 or 3 hours to complete. I used some of my favorite Cosmos Seasons variegated threads and the brown thread for the basket is a DMC variegated.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA61ahioTDc94m3lIHZRCIutADZxHr6CTlTgOnz6hNsUUIQQaliLxUxxTh_fj3wydejfc5hKKiQU3qDazwHJrTrvpg5mNgzY2aAtrShCozEQZfC1GzpzrUckR56K6zlGmtgg_Zo3dfohw_/s1600/100_1819.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA61ahioTDc94m3lIHZRCIutADZxHr6CTlTgOnz6hNsUUIQQaliLxUxxTh_fj3wydejfc5hKKiQU3qDazwHJrTrvpg5mNgzY2aAtrShCozEQZfC1GzpzrUckR56K6zlGmtgg_Zo3dfohw_/s400/100_1819.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There's a large patchwork pocket on the back as well as two small side pockets. And since I already had some extra patchwork squares cut, I decided to make a little pincushion and needlebook to go with it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I got the little pom-pom trim on sale at Jo-an Fabrics and thought it would look nice around the edges.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0yuU_yDdBtcJzF3WjYc7PMpjSc12vZsQ8B0EgUB6Io0TANIlxJSx6U_DnJI05-t6QeaEr3M2L4xlLOmJaXcYR11CDO7kRdsWQzne77Q7qLtdiF4w-4vHRRyWasveUIKOH4dWKK1CFsryP/s1600/100_1835.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0yuU_yDdBtcJzF3WjYc7PMpjSc12vZsQ8B0EgUB6Io0TANIlxJSx6U_DnJI05-t6QeaEr3M2L4xlLOmJaXcYR11CDO7kRdsWQzne77Q7qLtdiF4w-4vHRRyWasveUIKOH4dWKK1CFsryP/s400/100_1835.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the inside of the needlebook. I just love these fabrics and the nice thing about patchwork is having so many favorite fabrics all together on one thing! The vintage doily underneath it is one that I was lucky enough to find at a yard sale one summer. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you for stopping in, it was nice visiting with you!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
When I happened to run across the pattern for this vintage design, I knew I had to have it. I was thrilled to find that it was available to buy from a seller on <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/60074025/home-sweet-home-embroidery-pattern">Etsy.</a> I used a variety of variegated flosses, mostly DMC.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
It looks like a cheerful place to live, doesn't it?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1QvEa5OeqXsFdS64ILoXJSqV9YoKl5RyzexOyUtw6LqN7MylmbBjZH6Pn7nwOb1w26vZqRtzV3NEdiF2iWmSxN0T1ztukSfpNvIYUsryqkt3oSPNVt7ELb92icHKrRmjwoXkXgmnM7scA/s1600/100_1800+-+Copy.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1QvEa5OeqXsFdS64ILoXJSqV9YoKl5RyzexOyUtw6LqN7MylmbBjZH6Pn7nwOb1w26vZqRtzV3NEdiF2iWmSxN0T1ztukSfpNvIYUsryqkt3oSPNVt7ELb92icHKrRmjwoXkXgmnM7scA/s400/100_1800+-+Copy.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I didn't stitch it exactly like the original, but I think it still has a definite vintage look to it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, here are a few of one of my other favorite subjects for embroidery; baskets with flowers.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This embroidery was done with a selection of Needle Necessities threads that I have in my collection. This is a brand of floss that is no longer available, although the company was bought by Threadworx and I believe they reproduce pretty much the same colors themselves.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
More baskets:</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Except for the black on the butterfly, I embroidered this whole design with Caron Watercolors. I just started using these threads recently and I love them! They are nice and thick and come in a myriad of colors.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Last basket, this one was done with Rainbow Gallery's Rainbow Tweed. It's a soft and slightly fuzzy thread that works well for embroidery. I really love working with various types of threads, I think it makes embroidering just that much more exciting when I can experiment instead of always using the same old thing! How about you, do you like to try different threads that are new to you? If so, I would love to hear about your thread experiences!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you for stopping in for another visit, I appreciate it!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This wonderful sampler was a UFO that's been in my sewing room closet for a few years. I've pulled it out more than once to work on it but for some reason I always got tired of it. I think maybe because of the intricate border, it was a bit tedious!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then, a few weeks ago, I made up my mind to get it done, and I'm glad I did! The chart came from this great magazine that I bought several years ago, I don't know if it can still be found, but if you can find a copy it would be so worthwhile, it's full of lovely French sampler charts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought it at Nordic Needle, but I'm pretty sure it isn't available there anymore. Here's a few more pictures of the sampler.</div>

The sampler was done on 25 count Lugana over two threads with the recommended DMC threads.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started a Christmas break off from work on the 20th and I have to say that the way this vacation started out, it can only get better. The first two days we had a power outage from the winter storm Draco, and when did they start naming winter storms? We had never had an outage that lasted that long before and since we don't have a fireplace or a wood stove it got very cold! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxHW49sZgmi1r4wqa2aeFDz7sLQpK6wD5HHlHnqQL5B5lBaVF4LZAngj7mglu2N8LNVps2-zsoE7teooNMKjn1EeAZZHl2waYdLAWSWiq0ol9JEOSfCnLhnxogMv0rwxVAsON67EPK1x_F/s1600/100_1759.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxHW49sZgmi1r4wqa2aeFDz7sLQpK6wD5HHlHnqQL5B5lBaVF4LZAngj7mglu2N8LNVps2-zsoE7teooNMKjn1EeAZZHl2waYdLAWSWiq0ol9JEOSfCnLhnxogMv0rwxVAsON67EPK1x_F/s400/100_1759.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Harley and Tigger keeping warm during the power outage.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then, after enjoying about half of a day with heat, lights and water, my husband, Tom, starting feeling very badly and I had to take him to the ER. It turned out that he had a peptic ulcer, so he had to stay in the hospital for two days. He was able to come home on Christmas day which was the best present I could have asked for! His ulcer will be treated with medicine and he's feeling fine now.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, the sad part of this post. Our Sweetpea, who was 19 years old, had not been enjoying her life very much for a while now, so we decided it was time to send her on. She was actually born here on our property in a shed when a sweet gray barn kitty from one of the local farms decided to have her litter here. The mother, who we named Alice, eventually went back to her farm and we took most of the kittens to the farm, too. But our daughter, Jessie, decided that she wanted the little tortoiseshell kitten, so we kept her and named her Sweetpea. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Jessie, eventually got married and moved away and by then Sweetpea was really more my cat. I was her favorite person and the only one who could hold her without getting a dose of her tortie attitude!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But we have 7 other cats to hold and hug and that helps enormously. She had a long life and was very loved!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This was the last picture taken of her.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This pattern is an adaptation of one that I found on Hoop Love Vintage Transfers. I left out a tall sort of a bird house thing that would have been in the middle, and replaced the paving stones along the front with some plants. I could never draw an embroidery pattern to save my life, but then I usually find myself making all sorts of changes to the ones I use. I hope this one looks good as it is, I know I had fun stitching it.</div>

I trimmed the edge of the wall hanging with a nice brown leaf ribbon and then added some autumn colored leaf pins. I may take the pins back out, I'm thinking that maybe they look like a little bit too much.</div>

A pile of kitties! Tigger was laying in the chair when Sarah decided to join him and then Pepper didn't want to be left out so she added herself to the pile. She's nursing from her Mom here, we can't believe Sarah still allows this but she does. Pepper is almost as big as her Mom! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you for checking in on my blog. I haven't been commenting much on other blogs lately, there's been a lot of stress at work the last few weeks and I just haven't had the mental energy to say much. My boss, who was much loved by all of us, was fired and since then we have lost seven other employees from our department who either quit or were fired. It's been a struggle at times just to get through the day, I miss my co-workers a lot! But I do have a job, at least so far, so things could certainly be worse! Thanks for listening, I appreciate it!</div>

Behind the local college where I work, there's a Natural Area that's a great place to walk. The weather was perfect today so I decided to go. There are a couple of miles of trails with boardwalks where it might otherwise be muddy or messy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkm7_FDe0dwZRXyhYQtJ0KaGJ9Q3h0KU8VhvWkStmNQpwwznP8CZwNWQDlsrWai_krJHGjL8ClpxigHT8ssIuuZETaL1zHy2L5Yvzh5ut5jduEZRxA-w90huMcDb7D7qXnGK7cS2FBlbWU/s1600/100_1643.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkm7_FDe0dwZRXyhYQtJ0KaGJ9Q3h0KU8VhvWkStmNQpwwznP8CZwNWQDlsrWai_krJHGjL8ClpxigHT8ssIuuZETaL1zHy2L5Yvzh5ut5jduEZRxA-w90huMcDb7D7qXnGK7cS2FBlbWU/s400/100_1643.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I took my "walking purse", a small over the shoulder bag for holding a few necessities.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3vpt5jFhCDvo70wBX5_sNVTEfJ4JkWNfOEqWYBysEx0V-kINzGCZywJo7fn9xQxzl3Vagx1g_HI2IwhZX2stX2rOie-vd4e_WFp-VFl4OGgqLgcjNNwAIDtUybZ5l6qoq2-EeReZ5_jlW/s1600/100_1637.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3vpt5jFhCDvo70wBX5_sNVTEfJ4JkWNfOEqWYBysEx0V-kINzGCZywJo7fn9xQxzl3Vagx1g_HI2IwhZX2stX2rOie-vd4e_WFp-VFl4OGgqLgcjNNwAIDtUybZ5l6qoq2-EeReZ5_jlW/s400/100_1637.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The trail was sunny and beautiful, at least for this time of the year, not very many flowers left to look at.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqIO3NWfUU4qphrQ6HrjweDIXhmjs85PZi-tapUmxNm46YUcscBwQJU9F3DpS6J-GUcxPoTKnww7jDk2vOunkdgJ6YOZAs6BXI_fNqoZckRs_rehQejihIogzT9l-zXpYwTsk_rOvJ6IKt/s1600/100_1633.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqIO3NWfUU4qphrQ6HrjweDIXhmjs85PZi-tapUmxNm46YUcscBwQJU9F3DpS6J-GUcxPoTKnww7jDk2vOunkdgJ6YOZAs6BXI_fNqoZckRs_rehQejihIogzT9l-zXpYwTsk_rOvJ6IKt/s400/100_1633.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
On the way back I noticed some little wild flowers peeking up through the boards. I'm thankful for such a nice place to walk in and I can't wait to go back! We were at our neighbor Lana's a few days ago, she has a beautiful garden of flowers. This giant pink one is a hibiscus, I was surprised, I thought it only grew in more tropical areas.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I just finished this embroidery using a pattern from the HoopLove Flickr group. I used several different flosses as well as some pearl cottons. It's kind of whimsical and not very realistic but I like how it turned out. I know that this type of cottage is usually painted white but I just felt like making it pink!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU3WyMGcywK4qBtZ0ZCzfmlSAEsVl_uiBFXLi5lUq2yVTK7q73C759HRDwYfSNkfi0rvj6jFfbYOXNN2WvPCdi1n_jJqvUs2KmdJXK4pTVHpDtVB43k4BzJ4F7IhLKanKB_UNp6pMxQDfu/s1600/100_1481.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU3WyMGcywK4qBtZ0ZCzfmlSAEsVl_uiBFXLi5lUq2yVTK7q73C759HRDwYfSNkfi0rvj6jFfbYOXNN2WvPCdi1n_jJqvUs2KmdJXK4pTVHpDtVB43k4BzJ4F7IhLKanKB_UNp6pMxQDfu/s400/100_1481.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you noticed the little yellow flower button, it's there because I completely missed doing a flower in that spot and didn't notice it was missing until I was pressing the embroidery and at that point I didn't feel like putting it back in the hoop to add another flower. So I will have to add one later or just sew the button on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBMlb9M52ji-jx0lcMgMrEpTcxXsUrRxBYwy7MwcNJyciKzL31iiSYO5EBrAcGBCzF7fk-yk_ejPw5TqBkaqJV5vip-PRLnbGy2gSGz8IfvacIMUfVdTm1AAkRbVrP-61iPwRip371geHC/s1600/100_1483.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBMlb9M52ji-jx0lcMgMrEpTcxXsUrRxBYwy7MwcNJyciKzL31iiSYO5EBrAcGBCzF7fk-yk_ejPw5TqBkaqJV5vip-PRLnbGy2gSGz8IfvacIMUfVdTm1AAkRbVrP-61iPwRip371geHC/s320/100_1483.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Those yellow flowers are done with a new stitch I recently learned, I don't remember what it's called but it's very easy to do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I used rows of outline stitch to fill in the house and herringbone stitch for the roof.</div>

It's Swan Lake Sampler by Examplars from the Heart, one of my favorite designers. It's done entirely in <a href="http://www.hand-dyedfibers.com/">Vikki's Hand Dyed Silks</a> which are such a pleasure to use.</div>

The satin stitch at the bottom was done with "Moon-called Sea" my favorite of Vikki's colors I think mostly because I love the name!</div>

I wanted to tell you about a contest that I entered the covered bridge embroidery in from my last post. The Flickr group <a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/1440036@N24/discuss/72157630744347872/">New Embroidery with Vintage Patterns.</a> I was very lucky to win prizes from two wonderful sponsors for the category it was in. <a href="http://www.theflossbox.com/">Emily</a> at The Floss Box provided an excellent book with a lot of creative ideas as well as several of the patterns that she designed herself. And <a href="http://www.patternbee.com/">Vicki</a> at The Pattern Bee let me choose 3 sets of vintage patterns! Here are just a few of them:</div>
