Autumn Red

Although not a fall design, these bright colors make me feel autumn-ish.  The design is from a Cross Country Stitching magazine a few years ago.  I really love a lot of  Linda Coleman's designs.  She is so talented!

Most of the time I prefer colors such as mauve and pink, but sometimes a jolt of brilliant red is good for the soul!  I stitched this with DMC threads.

Patchwork Purse Again

I decided that I didn't like the lace that was around the top edge of the bag.  I like it better now, what do you think, does it look better, or not?

UFO Patchwork Purse

I took some old UFO's that went well together; in this case some Berlinwork projects and cut them into squares.  I knew that I wouldn't be finishing them as they were, so why not make something different out of them?   And I used a more odd shaped piece on the back.

Close ups.
I have some sampler UFO's that I'm thinking about using for a sampler themed purse next time.
Thanks for looking at my pictures!

Treat Time, A Finish and Uncle Sam

Treat time for the kitties!  Every day 5 kitties share a can of treat food, it's the highlight of their day.  Only 5 kitties because one of them {Tigger} doesn't eat anything except his dry food.
Here's one of Carol's charts at http://istitchcharts.blogspot.com/ , it's called Sew The Sampler Guild.  I stitched it with a new to me thread called Rainbow Tweed.  I believe it is mostly used for needlepoint, but when I tried it, it was really nice to stitch with, and I like the way it looks.
This is my favorite cereal.  It has crispy wheat flakes and flaxseeds in it.  This is what happens when you plant the flaxseeds.  I now have my very own flax plants.  Today two pretty blue flowers bloomed out, can you see them?  Theoretically, I could make my own linen out of this plant if only I knew how.  But never mind, I will just keep eating the cereal instead!

Two Tummies and a Pincushion

This is Harley relaxing in the computer chair.
Here's Tigger, most of his day is spent relaxing and visiting the food dish, as you can probably tell by the size of his tummy.
Pincushion made with the Blackbird design "A Tisket, a Tasket" from their gorgeous book, "Honeysuckle Manor".   I used  Valdani threads and trimmed it with piping and lace.  Thanks for looking and thanks again for any comments.  I don't have a huge number of followers, but I want you to know that I appreciate everyone of you and it does my heart good to see those little square pictures that represent each one of you! Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Elizabethan Garden Sampler

Elizabethan Garden is from Helen Philipps' book, "The New Cross Stitch Sampler Book".  It was this book that first got me started with over-dyed and specialty threads.  Thank you Ms. Philipps, I will forever be grateful for your enabling!
This sampler was done with Caron Waterlilies and Wildflowers and beads.

Three Ornaments

Here's an ornament that I finished up a few days ago, but I did the stitching so long ago I don't remember where the design came from. I think it was from a magazine.  Anyway, the thread is Anchor multicolor #1345.
This is, of course, a Blackbird Design from the book  "My Heart is True".  I used the Crescent colors that were listed.  This is one of my favorites, I just love the colors!
This was another free design from Beth Twist, I made it last year just in time for Thanksgiving.  Now I'm starting to think about fall decorations again.  It's a cool, dark and rainy day here which makes me think that fall may not be far off.  I used Gloriana Silk floss for this ornament.
